Privacy Policy — AI DLP Guard

AI DLP Guard is a browser extension that checks text and files for sensitive data (such as PAN, Aadhaar, passport, driving license, and card numbers) before they are sent to supported AI chat tools, and blocks or warns when something is found. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data.

What the extension checks

• Text typed or pasted into the message box on Claude.ai, ChatGPT, and Gemini.
• Files attached or dragged into those same sites, including plain text/code files, PDF, Word (.docx), and Excel (.xlsx) documents.

Where this checking happens

Entirely on your own device, inside your browser. The extension reads message text and file contents locally to check them against a set of detection patterns. No message content, file content, or file itself is ever uploaded, transmitted, or sent to any server, by this extension, as part of this checking process.

What is stored or reported

By default, nothing is stored or reported anywhere. If an organization's administrator has separately and explicitly configured an optional reporting feature, a record may be sent to that organization's own Google Sheet and/or Google Chat, containing only:

• The type of sensitive data found (e.g. "PAN"), never the actual value
• The file name, if a file was involved
• The site involved, and the time it happened

This optional feature is off by default, requires deliberate setup by an administrator, and never includes the sensitive value itself or any surrounding message content.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, store, sell, or share your data with any third party.
• We do not track your browsing activity outside of the specific sites this extension operates on.
• We do not use analytics or advertising services of any kind.

Permissions this extension uses

• storage — used only to hold configuration for the optional reporting feature described above.
• Access to Claude.ai, ChatGPT, and Gemini — used to read message text and file contents locally, for the checking described above.
• Access to script.google.com and chat.googleapis.com — used only if an administrator has configured the optional reporting feature; otherwise unused.

Children's privacy

This extension is a workplace productivity and data-loss-prevention tool. It is not directed at, and should not be used by, children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same page with a revised date above.
